whats-new-in-the-sewing-studio

I was able to test a  new pattern that just came out from Oh Sew Kat her “Halteralls Pattern”.  She had designed her pattern in 3 different sizes for dolls.  For me it was a perfect opportunity to write a small story.  I love short stories and I feel the dolls always have a story to tell. Even as an adult I love to take some time just to relax and dream.  I remember when I was a child carefree all I wanted to do was play with my friends or my brother.   A few of My girlfriends  became like sisters to me. What is a memory you all have?  I bet it will bring a smile to your face.

Abby wanted to go outside and play.  She knew her favorite little Polar bear Sammy would love it.  Off she went to play.

Definitely not Spring yet in Minnesota. Abby was having fun.  Her sister Leah came along with a jacket for her and told her to get back to the house. Sisterly Love!

This pattern was a lot of fun to sew and my models were quite well behaved. I just can never resist taking pictures outside even if it is in the dead of Winter.  The dolls nor I froze. These 2 outfits will be in my Etsy shop later this week. WWW.Etsy.com/shop/AmyViolets.   what a great way to get a jump on Spring with your wardrobe.

Thank you for reading.  I will be back this week with some more sneak peeks of new outfits to be listed soon too with some other tests I have done from some fantastic designers.

Take care  and everyone have a great week.

In closing here is Merida and Elsa in the Halteralls .  Now how fitting is this Merida giving the Ice Princess a popsicle.  Honest I had no idea that was what I was setting the picture up as.  I was trying to think of something for them to do.  A friend on the Net said “Look what’s more perfect”.  It just goes to show you sometimes pictures are just meant to be ……………

Happy New Year “2017”

WOW!  Where did the year go?  I enjoyed sewing so much again this past year.  I met some wonderful, incredibly talented Doll designers.  I even had the privilege of testing a few of their patterns.  I opened My Etsy Shop.  So many wonderful customers and orders came in.  I loved meeting everyone of you.  My Facebook page just hit 200.  I decided it was time to plunge into Blogging.  I haven’t done this for a few years. I have this wonderful friend/mentor that is keeping me moving forward.  BOY does she mean it! I don’t want to disappoint her or me in this New Year.

I thought I would show off a few of my outfits from last year.   I also sculpt little Fictional, Whimsical, One of a Kind Wool characters from time to time.  You will see my little Friends the Minnesota RockHeads tag along.   I love telling stories, I think it shows in all my pictures.

My Love of Wool will start to show up more with my sewing.  I have some wonderful ideas I hope to show off this New Year!  (With the help of my little Wool friends). My love for the Country Life shows in my work.  Most of my friends will tell you, I have to add LACE and ribbon or least try to add it to each of my outfits.  Gotta add that bling.

Here we go with a few of my favorites from 2016.  As always I love to hear your comments or suggestions.

I have to show you all 1 more picture. My poor dog Chester.  I do believe he is just Holiday pooped out! The girls sat there and petted him.  If you listened closely you could hear them humming to him. Good bye to 2016 and Hello to 2017!  I bet Chester is dreaming about new bones and chasing Squirrels up the tree.  May you all Have a Wonderful New Year.
